Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Law and Human Rights, Supratman Andi Agtas, confirmed on Wednesday (29/1/2025) that the amnesty being considered by President Prabowo Subianto is intended for prisoners involved in non-violent movements, not armed groups.
Headdressed rumors about potential amnesty for prisoners linked to armed criminal groups (KKB) in Papua, clarifying, “Currently, the amnesty process is not aimed at armed groups.”
If such a proposal for KKB amnesty arises, the decision would rest with President Prabowo, as granting amnesty is the prerogative of the president.
The Ministry of Law has a list of 44,000 prisoners being verified for possible amnesty. Minister Supratman emphasized that none of the KKB members are included in the current list.
“We’ve agreed that no amnesty applications for armed groups will be sent to the President at this time,” he added, as quoted by antaranews.com.
