inp.polri.go.id – Chairman of the SETARA Institute, Hendardi, appreciated the steps taken by the Special Team formed by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who named Inspector General Ferdy Sambo (FS) as a suspect in the murder of Brigadier J. Hendardi, assessing that the team have worked hard, honest, and transparently.
"Their data-based performance has led to conclusions and facts with sufficient preliminary evidence that there has been a murder of Brigadier J involving FS," said Hendardi, Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
In addition, according to Hendardi, the National Police Chief had successfully passed a tough test that had lowered public confidence in the National Police (Polri) institution.
Admittedly, the Police initially seemed very careful in dealing with this case, because the incident involved high-ranking Polri officers who also excelled, and there was an attempt to obstruct the law enforcement process. However, the National Police Chief was able to pass the test well.
"Not to mention there were massive burst of information regarding this case that hampered the investigation process. However, in the midst of declining public trust in the Polri institution, this case has indeed become the toughest test for the National Police Chief, although in the end General Listyo Sigit Prabowo passed the exam," said Hendardi.
According to Hendardi, this case is an important lesson for the National Police. Even so, the institution still has to uphold justice.
"In a corps, bad cop good cop will always exist. However, as an instrument of law enforcement, the Polri institution must still carry out its legal and constitutional duties to uphold justice. Polri must always be monitored and given an inpur, but as a mechanism, it must be trusted," he said.
