Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Papua Police Chief Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri reports public safety and security on December 1st, 2033 was under control as no significant disruptions found.
"The current situation in our security and safety calendar is well under control," he said in his written statement on Saturday (12/2/2023).
Mathius acknowledged there were two disruptions occured recently, however, the cases have been handled by the forces.
"Disruptions in Mimika has been secured, while assault in Puncak has been pulled back by the separatist to their grounds. That's why I ordered to all police chief in the region to stay on the line," Mathius explains.
He hopes that the security in Papua could be well continuously maintained as people prepares to celebrate Christmas and New Year Eve.
He then further stressed the importance of public security as it would further support government programs in the area.
"Ahead elections, I wish for the people of Papua, especially the indigineous, to focus on their right to vote and jointly contribute in developing their own region," wished Mathius.
