Inp.polri.go.id - Cilegon.  The Banten Health Quarantine Center has placed 21 crew members of the KM Sri Mariana 07 under quarantine to prevent disease spread for up to 14 days.

Out of 36 crew members, six have died and 30 are alive due to unknown illness.

Resi Arisandi, the Head of Banten Health Quarantine Center, said  on Thursday (8/8/2024) that they have been in quarantine since six days ago.

"Among the 30, 21 are healthy and in quarantine, five are at Krakatau Medika Hospital, and four are still quarantined on the ship," he said, as reported by antaranews.com.

Of the 21 quarantined at Wisma Krakatau, 11 had been on the ship, and nine were briefly treated at Krakatau Medika Hospital due to illness.

Healthy crew members remain in quarantine to stay in a sterile area and prevent disease spread.

The cause of the six deaths at Merak Waters, Pulau Tempurung, Cilegon, on 4 August 2024 remains unknown. Samples from the ship, including water, rodent and dog droppings, and food, have been sent to the Ministry of Health’s laboratory for analysis.
