Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Friday (21/3/2025) that six Indonesian pilgrims died in a bus accident en route from Madinah to Makkah, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday.
Judha Nugraha, the Director for the Protection of Indonesian Citizens at the Ministry, said that the Indonesian Consulate General in Jeddah received information at 1.30 pm local time about the crash in Wadi Qudaid, 150 km north of Jeddah.
“A total of 20 Indonesian Umrah pilgrims were involved in the accident, with six fatalities and the rest injured,” he said. “We are coordinating with Saudi authorities to ensure proper medical care and assistance for the victims.”

The Ministry is working with hospitals, Umrah operators, and the Ministry of Religious Affairs to assist victims and notify their families. Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
