Inp.polri.go.id - Karawang. A small GA28 aircraft operated by PT Wise Air made an emergency landing in a Karawang rice field on Friday (21/11/2025) after what investigators suspect was a sudden engine power loss. All five crew members survived the incident without injury, according to local authorities.

“The incident is suspected to be caused by a technical error in the form of loss of power,” Karawang Police Chief AKBP Fiki Novian Ardiansyah said at the crash scene, as cited by antaranews.com.

He said the initial assessment points to the technical error occurred shortly after takeoff from Budiharto Airport, Tangerang, en route to Cakrabuana Airport, Cirebon.

The aircraft, piloted by Captain Eko Agus Nugroho, began losing thrust at 5,500 feet, forcing a rapid descent. 

Captain Eko described the emergency as “a situation where the engine suddenly stopped producing power, and we had to immediately find a safe place to land.” 

The plane circled low above Kertawaluya Village before landing in a rice field around 2:20 pm. Police, military, and emergency personnel have secured the crash site while investigators from the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) prepare further examination of the aircraft.
