inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital has emphasized the importance of collaboration between social media and mainstream media. This was conveyed by the Director General of Public Communication and Media, Fifi Aleyda Yahya.
She stated that this collaboration is key to strengthening a credible information ecosystem, especially amidst the current rapid flow of digital information.
Fifi explained that technological advances have changed the way media and content are distributed in the digital space. This situation demands collaboration to ensure the public receives accurate and reliable information.
Furthermore, she stated that information accuracy is the foundation for strengthening public trust amidst the flood of data.
"The speed of information in the digital space should not sacrifice accuracy," she explained, on Saturday (10/25/2025).
"Social media provides speed and immediacy, while mainstream media provides depth and credibility. If these two strengths are combined, we can have an information ecosystem that is both popular and trusted," she said.
According to her, the flow of digital information is not merely about conveying messages. However, the values of responsibility and ethics must always be upheld in every news report.
She also highlighted the trend of clickbait content in the digital space. According to him, this strategy does attract attention, but it undermines public trust in the media.
"The issue now isn't who spreads the news the fastest, but who is the most trustworthy. Because credibility is far more important than just the number of clicks," she highlighted.
According to her, the public is now increasingly discerning in choosing information sources. They tend to seek out media that can present the truth with high integrity.
Therefore, she encouraged social media practitioners and mainstream media to build strategic collaborations. The goal is to ensure public information is conveyed quickly but responsibly.
