inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, revealed that the use of developments in artificial intelligence (AI) technology opens up significant opportunities for new jobs in Indonesia.

In her remarks, she stated that, despite this, AI has the potential to replace around 85 million jobs by 2025. However, she also stated that the use of AI has the potential to create 90 million new jobs.

"It is reported that artificial intelligence will replace around 85 million jobs by 2025. However, at the same time, AI also has the potential to create 90 million new jobs in various fields," she said on Saturday (10/25/2025).

The minister stated that the presence and use of AI is not intended to replace human workers. Rather, she stated that AI must be utilized to optimize the output of human workers.

"We are trying to view and discuss AI from a different perspective. Not just data and numbers, but how AI can be interpreted as a tool that empowers humans," she said.

Meutya explained that this can be achieved through the development of AI, which is utilized in various sectors of society. Therefore, the Minister of Communication and Digital Technology emphasized that AI development is not a threat to the human workforce, but rather an opportunity for Indonesia's economic growth.

She assessed that Indonesia is one of the countries in the world that is optimistic about the current development of AI. She stated that Indonesians have demonstrated their willingness to embrace new technology without excessive fear.

"Based on various surveys, Indonesia is considered a country that is ready to accept AI and is not afraid, and that is a good sign," she explained.
