Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. Soekarno-Hatta International Airport's Immigration Office has deployed a monitoring team at key points to ensure smooth immigration processes during Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia from 3 to 6 September 2024.
Subki Miuldi, the Head of the Immigration Office, said on Monday (2/9/2024) that preparations have been in place to facilitate the Pope's visit amid high public enthusiasm.
The team will oversee immigration checks and offer VVIP services to accompanying officials and diplomats, according to antaranews.com.
The VVIP services, which have been used previously during the G20 and ASEAN summits, aim to expedite processing amidst heavy international traffic. Coordination with airport authorities and security personnel from the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Community (Kombata) has been implemented to ensure the event’s success, Subki said.
Pope Francis will also visit Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, and Singapore during his Asia-Pacific tour. He is scheduled to arrive in Indonesia on 3 September 2024, meet President Joko Widodo on 4 September 2024, and attend an interfaith meeting at Istiqlal Mosque on 5 September 2024.
