Inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The South Sumatra Regional Police concluded Operation Aman Nusa II Penanggulangan Karhutla 2026 (Land and Forest Fire Handling) under the code name Operation X-Fire, extinguishing a peatland wildfire in Dusun 3, Teluk Limau Village, Muara Enim Regency.
Executed from 6 to 16, September 2026, the joint task force surpassed its initial suppression target of 80 hectares.
The operation mobilized 218 officers equipped with thermal-camera drones to map 175 hot spots across the affected zone. Ground teams applied the specialized Formula X-Fire Slog Polri solution deep into the peat layers to neutralize underground embers and prevent reignition.
"Suppression does not stop when surface flames are extinguished," said South Sumatra Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent. Nandang Mu’min Wijaya. "Officers continued sweeping and verifying the site using thermal drones to ensure no remaining embers lingered in the peat layers."
Following complete site clearance and continuous aerial monitoring confirming zero active hot spots, operational equipment and personnel were safely withdrawn to headquarters.
