inp.polri.go.id - Palembang. South Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Sandi Nugroho personally led the urine tests on all personnel of the South Sumatra Regional Police at Precision Building on Monday (2/23/2026).

This decisive measure was a swift follow-up to the Vice Chief of Indonesian National Police (INP)'s directive delivered during a video conference on the Analysis and Evaluation of the Security and Public Order Situation on the same day.

The South Sumatra Regional Police ensured that the zero-tolerance drug policy was implemented without exception.

The examination began with the South Sumatra Regional Police Chief, the Vice Chief, and Senior Officials as a form of exemplary leadership. Urine tests were then administered comprehensively to other personnel.

The Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Superintendent  Nandang Mu'min Wijaya, emphasized that this policy was not merely symbolic, but a concrete step to maintain the institution's integrity.

"With this urine test, the South Sumatra Regional Police are committed to implementing a zero-tolerance policy against drug abuse by police officers," said Nandang.

He added that internal cleanup is the main foundation before enforcing the law against the public.

"Every violation will be processed according to applicable regulations without discrimination," he said.

The urine tests were conducted transparently and strictly supervised by the Professional and Security Division of the South Sumatra Regional Police to ensure the validity and accuracy of the test results. All medical procedures were carried out according to standard operating procedures to avoid potential manipulation.
