Inp.polri.go.id - Kendari. The Southeast Sulawesi Regional Police has dispatched a team to investigate possible procedural misconduct in the case of Supriyani, a non-permanent teacher at SDN 4 Baito elementary, South Konawe.

Brigadier General Amur Chandra Juli Buana, the Southeast Sulawesi Deputy Chief, confirmed on Wednesday (23/10/2024) that the internal team was formed in response to public concerns about alleged mishandling by Baito Police.

"We are looking into claims of procedural violations, and the internal team is tasked with verifying these issues," he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The investigation will also review how evidence was collected, particularly regarding a broomstick allegedly taken by the victim’s parents without police involvement. The results of the internal inquiry are expected to clarify the matter soon.

Supriyani was reported to Baito Police on 25 April 2024, by a parent of a first-grade student for alleged abuse. Mediation attempts failed, and the case was escalated to prosecution.
