inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Counterterrorism Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) arrested several suspect terrorists and seized hundreds of charity boxes in Bandar Lampung from the development of the previous terrorist arrest.

Chief of PR Agency of Lampung Regional Police, Police Grand Commissioner Zahnawi Pandra Arsyad, said that Densus 88 arrested three suspected terrorists of Bandar Lampung: SU (61), S (59), and DRS (46). They managed the charity foundation of Lembaga Amil Zakat Baitul Maal Abdurrahman bin Auf.

Densus 88 also seized 791 charity boxes, some amount of cash, and other things. The charity boxes being seized is owned by the Lembaga Amil Zakat Baitul Maal Abdurrahman bin Auf.

The hundreds of charity boxes are seized from a house in Way Halim, Bandar Lampung. The foundation is known to have several branches, such as in Jakarta, Lampung, Medan, and Yogyakarta.

Police explained that JI uses the fund to educate and prepare the new JI generation called the Jihad Global programme.

"Besides, the aim of this Jihad Global programme is to build, connect, and foster friendship, which also affiliated with the radical groups in conflict countries such as Syria and Afghanistan", Chief of General Information Board of PR Division of National Police, Police Grand Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan.

The arrest of three suspected terrorists is the development of other arrests in Jakarta and Medan.

Police stated that three arrested suspected terrorists have many assets. Therefore, the Densus 88 investigators are still investigating the assets of the suspected terrorists, whether they come from crowdfunding or other sources.

Based on the investigation, the JI's fund sources vary, from mandatory dues and charity boxes to sympathisers' donations.
