inp.polri.go.id - Yahukimo. The 2026 Damai Cartenz Operation (ODC) Task Force, along with the Yahukimo Sub-regional Police, are investigating a case of serious assault involving the stabbing of a civilian with the initials H (35) on Sosial Kali Bonto Road, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains, on Tuesday (10/27/2026) at around 6:00 PM.

The incident began when the victim went to a kiosk to transfer money. After completing the transaction, the victim was stabbed from behind, striking him in the right side of his back.

The victim screamed for help and ran home. A witness nearby found the victim injured and took him to Dekai Regional Hospital for medical treatment.

The Vice Head of the Public Relations Task Force for the 2026 ODC, Superintendent Andria, explained that after receiving information about the incident, the 2026 ODC Task Force, along with the Yahukimo Sub-regional Police, immediately arrived at the scene, conducted a crime scene investigation, and collected witness statements and evidence to help uncover the case.

"On October 27, 2026, we, along with the Yahukimo Sub-regional Police, received a report from the public regarding the attack. Personnel then responded to the scene and collected statements and evidence to help identify the perpetrator and the motive for the attack," explained Andria.

Based on initial information, the perpetrator is believed to be one person and fled towards the residential area in Dekai District after the stabbing. Investigators are currently investigating the perpetrator's identity and motive.

Investigators are also investigating the alleged link between the incident and the activities of the Yahukimo XVI Armed Criminal Group (KKB), led by Kopi Tua Heluka. However, this allegation requires further investigation and verification through the collection and examination of facts and evidence to determine who is responsible.

"We are still investigating the alleged involvement of a specific group in this incident. Every allegation must be proven based on facts and evidence obtained during the investigation. Therefore, we ask the public not to jump to conclusions and to await the results of the police investigation," added Andria.
