A motorcycle theft case at two different locations in Banda Aceh City was successfully uncovered by the Banda Aceh Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit's Operational Team. Police arrested two teenagers, identified as FM (13) and RKF (15), suspected of involvement in the case.
The two were arrested at around 1:20 a.m., Friday (9/25/2026), after police followed up on public information regarding suspected motor vehicle theft.
Following this discovery, police also seized two motorcycles suspected of being stolen: a Yamaha Mio Soul and a Honda Supra.
Banda Aceh Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Teguh Priyambodo Nugroho, through the Head of Criminal Investigation, Police Assistant Superintendent Miftahuda Dizha Fezuono, stated that the two teenagers had been detained for further investigation.
"The two suspected perpetrators have been detained along with evidence, the Yamaha Mio Soul and Honda Supra, for further investigation," Dizha said on Saturday (9/26/2026).
This case began with information from residents regarding alleged motorcycle thefts committed by two teenagers in two different locations. Following up on this information, officers went to FM's home and detained him for questioning.
"From FM's statement, he admitted to the alleged motorcycle thefts in two locations with his friend, RKF," he said.
Police then proceeded to RKF's home and detained the teenager. Initial questioning revealed that RKF also admitted to his and FM's involvement in the alleged motorcycle thefts.
The investigation then led to the discovery of a Yamaha Mio Soul, suspected to be stolen. The motorcycle was found at a resident's home in Gampong Garot, Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar.
Meanwhile, the Honda Supra, also suspected to be stolen, was reportedly sold by the two teenagers for IDR 700,000.
"Officers then went to the location and found and secured the motorcycle," said Dizha.
Dizha explained that the case is related to two police reports received by the Banda Aceh Police. One was filed by Firdaus (51), a resident of Banda Raya District, on July 13, 2026.
In the report, Firdaus reported that his Yamaha Mio Soul disappeared while he was praying at a mosque in Gampong Geuceu Kayee Jato, Banda Raya District on Monday (7/13/2026) at around 5:30 a.m.
"After prayers, the victim discovered his motorcycle was gone. After searching the area but not finding his vehicle, the victim then reported the incident to the police. As a result, the victim suffered losses of approximately IDR 6 million," he said.
