Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Home Affairs confirmed on Monday (20/4/2026) that all strategic state documents remain safe following a fire that broke out at Building D in Pasar Minggu, Jakarta, earlier this afternoon.
"No strategic records were affected by the blaze as our primary archives are securely stored in Building B," said Murtono, the Secretary of the Directorate General for Village Government Affairs, as reported by antaranews.com.
The fire, reported at 1.38 pm, primarily impacted administrative workspaces across the four-story facility. While some routine paperwork was damaged, officials emphasized that critical national data remains intact.
Seventy-five firefighters and seven units from the South Jakarta Fire Agency extinguished the flames, which reportedly originated on the second floor. Authorities are currently conducting a forensic investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident while assessing the extent of the structural damage.
