inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, along with the Indonesian Military (TNI), deployed 6,088 joint personnel to serve and secure student demonstrations at various locations in Jakarta on Friday (6/12/2026). 

Security measures began at the DPR/MPR RI Building, the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, the Horse Statue, the Cikini Raya area, and several roads potentially affected by public activity.

Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Chief, Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri, in his directive emphasized that all personnel must carry out their duties humanely, patiently, measuredly, and not be easily provoked. He reminded them that students expressing their opinions are also part of the community that they must serve and protect.

"I emphasize to all personnel, these students are also our family. They are not enemies, but members of the community whom we must serve, protect, and secure as best we can," said Asep.

He also emphasized that all actions in the field must be carried out under a single command and in accordance with procedures. 

All personnel were asked not to act outside of procedure, not to act independently, and to prioritize persuasive communication when dealing with crowd dynamics.

He also ensured that no personnel carried or used firearms during the demonstration.

"All actions in the field must be carried under a single command. No individual initiative is permitted without instructions. Carry out your duties responsibly, humanely, in a measured manner, and in accordance with procedures," he said.
