inp.polri.go.id - East Java. Food security is not just about planting, but also about ensuring optimal harvest absorption for the welfare of farmers.

This spirit underpinned the release of the first shipment of corn harvested by the Farmers' Group Association (Gapoktan) under the auspices of the Jember Sub-regional Police and the East Java Regional Police to the Jember Branch of the National Logistics Agency (Bulog), on Wednesday (10/7/2026).

The release ceremony, which took place in Puger District, was led by Jember Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Alaiddin, and witnessed by the Head of the Jember Branch of Bulog, Muhammad Ade Saputra, the Head of the Jember Food Crops, Horticulture, and Plantation Service, Sutiyoso, and members of the Puger Sub-district Leadership Coordination Forum.

This strategic collaboration demonstrates the police's support for the national food security program, particularly in ensuring the absorption and marketing of local produce.

For farmers, this market certainty is a breath of fresh air, ready to drive the economy and boost their welfare. Furthermore, this absorption strengthens the food supply chain from upstream to downstream.

Alaiddin emphasized that the food security program must have a direct impact on the grassroots, especially farmers.

"We want this program to go beyond planting and harvesting. The results must be absorbed by the market so that farmers have price certainty. We are committed to continuing to synergize with farmers, Bulog, and all stakeholders to achieve this," said Alaiddin.

He added that strengthening farmers will be in line with regional food independence.

"When farmers are strong, food production automatically follows. Our presence here is to assist and find solutions so that agricultural products have high economic value," he added.

Beyond focusing on the agricultural sector, this activity also included social activities. The Jember Police Chief distributed basic food packages to 100 underprivileged residents near the event location.

This step reinforces the message that strengthening food security must go hand in hand with social concern for others.
