Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Brigadier General Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro, the Director of General Crimes at the Indonesian National Police (INP), said that one of the suspects of the human trafficking in disguise of internship case in Germany gained both tangible and intangible profits. These findings arose from the 10-hour interrogation of  a suspect, identified as S.S. who is also a professor at a state-owned Jambi University. He admitted that he received Rp48 million in material benefits for his role. "He also gained intangible benefits, earning recognition as a lecturer, particularly in KUM," Chief Djuhamdani said on Thursday (4/4/2024), as reported by antaranews.com. KUM, or  Performance Criteria, refers to the unit of measurement for evaluating the performance of instructors or lecturers in academic settings. The investigators did not detain SS due to his age and his cooperation. However, Chief Djuhandhani stressed the investigation's continuity despite no detainment. The police have questioned two other suspects from academic circles, while warrants have been issued for two suspects in Germany who evaded interrogation twice. Though believed to be in Germany, the whereabouts of these suspects remain unknown. The trafficking in disguise of internship program in Germ involves 33 universities and 1,047 exploited students, according to Chief Djuhandhani.
