inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police have named 49 suspects in the riots during a demonstration at the House of Representatives (DPR) in Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (8/27/2026).
Jakarta Regional Metro Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto, explained that of the total suspects, 44 are adults and are being handled by the General Criminal Investigation Directorate.
"Meanwhile, the other five are children in conflict with the law, and their handling is being carried out by the Directorate of Women and Children Services (PPA) and Women and Children Protection (PPO)," he said in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (9/1/2026).
These suspects are among the 322 people arrested on Thursday (8/27/2026) based on the latest data verification and synchronization by investigators.
Budi added that the remaining 273 people who were previously detained have been released by the police after undergoing questioning and verification.
He also clarified the details of the three individuals caught carrying sharp weapons.
This information details the suspects' roles in the case, not the number of new suspects added separately.
Therefore, the latest official data used as a reference for the investigation to date is 49 suspects out of a total of 322 people detained.
Previously, the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police named 45 of them as suspects in connection with the riots following a public demonstration near the DPR/MPR building on Thursday (8/27/2026).
Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police, Senior Superintendent Iman Imannudin, stated that based on the results of the examination and investigation, the police have identified the perpetrators into six role clusters.
"Based on evidence and witnesses during the investigation, we have now named 45 people as suspects for vandalism and assault, and three as suspects for the misuse of sharp weapons," Iman said at a press conference in Jakarta on Friday (8/28/2026).
