Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the leadership of the House of Representatives (DPR), Commission III of the DPR, the public, and all Bhayangkara personnel after receiving DPR approval to become Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP).
Suyudi made these remarks during a press conference at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Thursday (10/1/2026), after the 8th Plenary Session of the DPR for the First Session of the 2026–2027 Session Year approved his appointment as Chief of Police.
"Today, I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, the leadership of the DPR, and the Chairman of Commission III of the DPR. Thank God, this morning, we have passed the fit and proper test at Commission III of the DPR RI and I have been accepted by acclamation as Chief of Police," he said.
Suyudi also expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian people and all members of INP for their continued support.
"We also express our gratitude to all Indonesian people, especially to all Bhayangkara personnel everywhere, for their continued support. May we all work together to provide the best service to the community, nation, and state," he said.
After receiving approval from DPR, Suyudi emphasized the importance of building synergy with various parties, including the press. He stated that such cooperation is necessary to convey clear information to the public.
He also asked for public support in carrying out his mandate as INP Chief.
"Once again, we ask for the support of all Indonesian people. Hopefully, we can carry out this mandate to the best of our ability," he concluded the press conference.
In the 8th Plenary Session of the DPR, council members unanimously approved Suyudi Ario Seto as INP Chief, replacing General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
The plenary session also approved the report of Commission III of DPR RI regarding the results of the discussion on the proposal to honorably dismiss Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo from his position as INP Chief.
