The joint security forces of the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) mobilized swiftly on Friday (3/5/2024) in a resolute response to the recent string of attacks by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the Homeyo district of Intan Jaya regency, Central Papua.

The KKB had launched the fatal assault on the Homeyo Police Office that claimed the life of teenager Alexsander Parapak on Tuesday, the arson of a state elementary school building in Pogapa on Wednesday and the attempted attack of the Military Command in Homeyo on Thursday.

To restore order, the INP Mobile Brigade from the Blukar Task Force and the TNI Special Command forces from the Nanggala Task Force were deployed as part of Damai Cartenz Operation 2024. 

Led by Senior Superintendent Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, these units have been actively engaged in tracking down KKB insurgents in Homeyo, ensuring the safety and security of local residents.

Superintendent Dr. Bayu Suseno, Damai Cartenz Task Force Head of Public Relations confirmed that the body of the KKB shooting victim would soon be evacuated to Timika.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the victim of the KKB shooting in the Homeyo district on 30 April 2024," he remarked.
