Taiwanese Man Body Found Near Capsized Ship in Thousand Island

The body of a Taiwanese citizen was found near the site where the KM Pari Kudus ship capsized in the northern area of the Pondok Dayung pier in Thousand Islands, according to antaranews.com. "The victim was discovered approximately 13.92 nautical miles from the capsized KM Pari Kudus ship," said Agung Priambodo, the Head of Operations at the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Jakarta, in a statement on Friday evening (15/3/2024). On Monday, the KM Pari Kudus capsized while carrying 32 passengers and three crew members from Asha Resort on Payung Island in South Thousand Islands, heading to Mutiara Beach due to high waves and strong winds. Among the 35 passengers and crew on board were ten foreigners, including five Chinese, four Taiwanese, and one Korean. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
