Inp.polri.go.id - Batam. A fire broke out aboard the Federal II tanker during docking maintenance at ASL Shipyard in Tanjung Uncang, Batam, on Tuesday afternoon (24/6/2025), leaving three workers dead and six others injured.

“The fire was reported at 2:15 p.m. and has since been extinguished, but safety teams remain on site,” said Batu Ajil Police Office Chief Assistant Senior Inspector Raden Bimo Dwi Lambang, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Three deceased workers—identified as Berkat Setiawan, Gunawan, and Hermansyah—were evacuated to Mutiara Aini Hospital before being transferred to Bhayangkara Police Hospital for forensic examination.

Two injured victims are being treated at Mutiara Aini Hospital, while three others were transferred to Graha Hermine Hospital. One more victim was awaiting evacuation as of Tuesday night, bringing the total number of casualties to nine.

Authorities continue coordinating with the shipyard’s safety team due to restricted access.
