inp.polri.go.id – The Deputy Chief of the East Java Police, Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo opened a seminar on preventing radicalism and intolerance.
The activity which took place in the Meeting Room of Gedung Patuh was attended by the Main Officer of the East Java Regional Police, the UINSA Professor, the East Java Indonesian Psychological Association, the Chair of the Peace Circle Foundation, the Regional Head Unit of Special Detachment 88 of East Java.
The Deputy Chief of the East Java Police Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo discussed about the diversity of Indonesia which lately has been tested by provocations and conflict to divide the nation.
Minister of Home Affairs, Prof. Drs. H. Muhammad Tito Karnavian, M.A., Ph.D. stated that there are five ways to counteract radicalism, including neutralizing those who recruits the mass, weakening the spread of radical ideologies, creating and spreading rival ideologies to the public, supervising the media as a means of spreading radicalism, and understanding the existing social and cultural context at every level of society.
"Therefore, the East Java Regional Police held this seminar in the hope that all East Java Regional Police personnel could understand the dangers of radicalism and intolerance, and so that they do not fall into the influence of ideologies that are contrary to Pancasila," explained the Minister of Home Affairs, Monday (25/07/22).
