inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The Tangerang City Sub-regional Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit has resolved the case of a firecracker throwing at a B 02 public transportation driver on the Cikokol-Ciledug route by several youths, which went viral on social media, through restorative justice.

"After clarifying the matter with the victim and the perpetrators, we facilitated a meeting to resolve the matter amicably while upholding the principles of law and justice," said Tangerang City Sub-regional Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head, Superintendent Parikhesit, in a statement in Tangerang on Friday (2/27/2026).

He said the incident occurred on Tuesday (2/2/2026) at 2:00 a.m. and went viral on Instagram through the account @infocipondoh.id. After the video circulated widely, his unit immediately conducted clarification, investigated the situation, and brought the two parties together.

The victims of the incident were Muhamad Gazali (51) and Marjono (51), both drivers of the B 02 public transportation on the Cikokol-Ciledug route.

The three youths involved in the incident were D.A. (20), R.D.S. (16), and U.P.Y. (21). The meeting, facilitated at the Tangerang City Sub-regional Metro Police Headquarters, was attended by the parents of the perpetrators, the victims, and police officers.

In the mediation forum, the perpetrators and their families apologized directly to the two drivers for their actions and promised not to repeat their actions.

The perpetrators acknowledged their mistakes and apologized to the victims and the community. Both parties agreed to resolve the case peacefully through a written agreement.

"Both drivers accepted the apology and agreed to reconcile to maintain peace in Tangerang City," he said.

Tangerang City Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Raden Muhammad Jauhari, emphasized that the problem-solving approach was implemented by considering humanitarian aspects, the perpetrators' ages, and the social impact, without neglecting legal responsibility.
