Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The General Election Commission (KPU) has set the first debate for 2024 presidential election candidate to be held on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023.
KPU itself has determined there will be five presidential and vice-presidential debates during the campaign period. The first debate will discuss about government, law, human rights, graft eradication, democracy strengthening, public service improvement, and social harmony.
Indonesian National Police (INP) members have also designed their security operations and mapped their personnel placement in the first inner ring to the outermost ring to secure the debate. KPU have also published their regulations for candidate supporters inside the debate arena, such as supporters limitation which only the invited guests are welcomed to enter the debate arena, and the prohibitions of bringing campaign props to the debate arena.
Central Jakarta Metro Sub-regional Police Chief, Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro says 2,120 joint personnel of INP, military, and related stakeholders will be present to secure the debate.
Susatyo also states that his party have conducted traffic engineering simulations around Imam Bonjol street, Menteng and will be officially implemented on Tuesday (12/12/2023) at 16:00 pm, several hours before the debate began.
"We suggest those who drive around KPU later in this evening to seek another alternative routes as we will implement traffic engineering around there. We also implore for the volunteers and cadidate supporters who are involved in the debate to maintain safety, security and order of the event," implore Central Jakarta Metro Sub-regional Police Chief.
