inp.polri.go.id - Majalengka. As a decisive and concrete step to eradicate social issues and anticipate the potential for various crimes and disturbances to public order, the Majalengka Sub-regional Police destroyed 2,079 bottles of alcoholic beverages of various brands and types.
The thousands of bottles of liquor destroyed were evidence resulting from a series of simultaneous enforcement operations conducted continuously by the Narcotics Investigation Unit, in conjunction with the Task Force and police officers throughout Majalengka Regency, throughout August 2026.
The destruction was carried out openly as a demonstration of transparency and a stern warning to anyone who still dares to trade in these dangerous goods.
The destruction was led by Majalengka Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent M Aldy Sulaiman.
Aldy emphasized to all parties that his office would not allow the distribution or sale of alcoholic beverages within the Majalengka Sub-regional Police jurisdiction. He also firmly reiterated his commitment to consistently and comprehensively enforce the law.
"We can suppress the circulation of alcoholic beverages to zero in the future. While there is still resistance, the prospect of liquor sales in Majalengka Regency will certainly continue to suffer losses because we will not stop taking action," asserted Aldy during a press conference.
Aldy explained that enforcement efforts will not stop at major events, but will continue through routine daily operations. These include searches, confiscation of evidence, and prosecution under Minor Crimes laws, which will be consistently implemented against anyone found selling or storing alcoholic beverages without a permit.
"If we continue to take legal action every day, enforce the Minor Crimes laws, and conduct seizures after seizures, then God willing, in the future, no one will dare to sell alcoholic beverages in Majalengka Regency," he said confidently.
Furthermore, the Majalengka Sub-regional Police Chief also explained the main reason why his police are so aggressively combating the distribution of alcoholic beverages in his region. According to him, alcohol consumption is the root cause and primary trigger for various crimes and disturbances to public order and security.
Many incidents, such as domestic violence (KDRT), gang brawls, motorcycle gang disturbances and delinquency, and the high number of traffic accidents, stem from the negative influence of alcohol consumption among the community. Therefore, eradicating its distribution is the most fundamental step to maintaining overall public safety and peace.
By destroying thousands of bottles of alcoholic beverages, it is hoped that the public will become more aware of the dangers of alcohol and will actively assist the police in monitoring and reporting any alcohol distribution found in their respective neighborhoods.
