Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Adi Prabowo, thePapua Regional Police’s Head of Public Relations confirmed on Tuesday (16/4/2024) that a joint team from the Yahukimo Sub-regional Police and the Damai Cartenz Task Force has arrested three men linked to the fatal assault of Second Brigadier Oktovianus Buara (23).

The detainees, identified as UH (18), ARH (19), and RW (21), are currently undergoing interrogation by Yahukimo Police investigators in Dekai, he said.

Second Brigadier Oktovianus was found deceased with multiple injuries at an intersection near Block B shops on Papua Street, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains, on Tuesday morning, as reported by antaranews.com.

His body was evacuated to the Nafri funeral home in Jayapura, with burial scheduled for Wednesday in Bonggo, Sarmi Regency, Papua.

Yahukimo Police Chief Superintendent Heru Hidayanto acknowledged ongoing investigations and crime scene inspections. Officers have searched and delved deeper into the case.

"With information from the detainees, we hope to arrest those responsible for the fatal assault," Chief Heru said.
