inp.polri.go.id - Cimahi. Cimahi Sub-regional Police has uncovered the syndicate of subsidized fertilizer illegal smuggling in Gununghalu and Cipongkor, West Bandung Regency. In the arrest, police apprehended three suspects with the initials of AG, J and A.
Head of Cimahi Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Tri Suhartanto says that the suspects were arrested for not having the official permit to sell the subsidized fertilizer.
He revealed that in addition to being illegal, the suspects also sold subsidized fertilizer to the public above the Highest Retail Price (HET) to gain profits. From the suspects, the police managed to secure more than 6 tons of subsidized fertilizer that had not been sold.
"We have seized evidence of 1.4 tons of NPK fertilizer, 4.7 tons of UREA, and also scales and plastic," he said.
Currently, he said, investigators are still investigating to find out where the suspects got the subsidized fertilizer. However, the police is certain that it came from outside West Bandung Regency.
The suspects were charged with Article 110 Juncto Article 36 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade as amended by Article 46 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 6 of 2023 concerning the stipulation of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 2 of 2022 concerning job creation to become Law Juncto Article 23 paragraph (3) of the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 04 of 2023 concerning Procurement and Distribution of Subsidized Fertilizer for the Agricultural Sector with a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison.
