inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Metro Jaya Regional Police will deploy thousands of personnel to secure the Indonesian national team football match against Japan for the 2026 World Cup qualification for the Asian zone.
The match will be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) Jakarta on Friday (11/15/2024) night. Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi stated that the thousands of personnel will be tasked with maintaining order in the area around the stadium.
"We have prepared 2,500 joint personnel to secure the Indonesia vs Japan football match at GBK Jakarta which will be held on Friday night," explained Ade on Thursday (11/14/2024).
He relays that the joint personnel consists of members from Metro Jaya Regional Police, Central Jakarta Sub-regional Metro Police, the military, Jakarta Provincial Government officials, and other related parties.
Thousands of personnel will be placed at several points in the GBK area, starting from the entrance, the match location, to the Senayan area.
Ade appealed to supporters not to bring prohibited items such as firecrackers, flares, sharp weapons, or alcoholic beverages into the stadium, so that all parties can enjoy the match comfortably.
"We will take firm action against spectators who bring firecrackers, flares, or fireworks,” says Ade. However, he ensured that all personnel on duty will prioritize a humanist approach," he explained.
On the other hand, Ade emphasized that traffic flow engineering will be carried out situationally around the Senayan area to anticipate traffic jams. He appealed to the people to find alternative routes and avoid the GBK area on the match day.
