Indonesian Military Force (TNI) Commander, General Agus Subiyanto ensures the handling of Papua armed criminal group will use soft approach. “From us, we still opt to use territorial operation,” says TNI commander in Papua on Friday (12/8/2023). According to Agus, the strategy of hard approach has indeed been prepared by TNI, however he firmly states that the approach would only be used as the last resort. Emphasized by the TNI commander, his party would focus on developing Papua as the province has been provided with huge funds for its development. Thus, TNI, as one of Indonesian main security institutions, aims to support government in accelerating Papua development as the country seeks to prosper the people of Papua as soon as possible. “The goal of territorial operation is indeed to accelerate the development in Papua,” explains Agus.
