Inp.polri.go.id -  Jakarta. The South Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police have declared PD, 41, the father of four children who died in a rented house in the Jagakarsa area, a murder suspect. The announcement came after investigators reviewed the case on Friday (8/12/2023) Superintendent Bintoro, the Head of the South Jakarta Police's Criminal Investigation Department, said the suspect had murdered his four children by suffocating them with his hands for 15 minutes. He then arranged the evidence, including the children's favourite toys, on the bed with their lifeless bodies. "He suffocated the children by hands. It happened on Sunday, 3 December 2023, around 1 - 2 pm," he said. Superintendent Bintoro revealed that the youngest child, identified as A and aged 1, was his father's first victim. This was followed by the 3-year-old, another child aged 4, and the oldest victim, a 6-year-old. The motive behind PD's decision to murder his children is still under investigation. "We will use scientific crime investigation methods to uncover the details of this case. We are working with all stakeholders and will involve psychiatrists in addition to forensic experts. It's not just Inafis and forensic laboratory; our entire team will work together to solve this case," he said, referring to the Indonesia Automatic Fingerprint Identification System. (mg/ay/pr/nm)
