Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Major General Nugraha Gumilar, the Indonesian Military (TNI) Head of Information Center, confirmed the tragic loss of one soldier after a lightning strike at TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap, Jakarta on Wednesday (24/4/2024).

Initially receiving treatment at Moh. Ridwan Meureksa Army Hospital, one soldier, Army Second Private Ardiansyah, succumbed to his injuries. The other injured soldier, Navy First Seaman Dani Sidiq, survived.

The incident occurred at 3.20 pm on Wednesday. who were passing through Delta 1 at TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap.

Ardiansyah, stationed at the TNI Academy Command Headquarters, and Dani, at the Navy's Personnel Administration Service, were struck by the lightning as they were passing through Delta 1 at the TNI headquarters. 

While Dani received first aid at the Navy's Health Unit, Ardiansyah was initially treated at the Army's Health Unit.

Both were later evacuated to Ridwan Meuraksa Hospital for further medical treatment.
