Indonesia-Japan Transportation Collaboration Intensifies

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi highlighted on Wednesday (24/4/2024) the deepening collaboration between Indonesia and Japan in transportation during his Tokyo visit. 

He discussed project updates, including the Patimban Port and MRT Jakarta, with Japanese counterparts, according to antaranews.com.

Meetings were held with key figures such as Special Advisor to Japan's Prime Minister Masafumi Mori and Japan's Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism Tetsuo Saito. 

A Memorandum of Cooperation was already signed in January reinforced the commitment to enhancing transportation ties.

Minister Budi Karya emphasized the ongoing Patimban Port development and urged Toyota Tsusho Corporation to facilitate exports through the port, inviting more car manufacturers to participate.

Regarding the Proving Ground Bekasi project, a soft opening for testing is scheduled for September 2024. 

For the MRT Jakarta project, Minister Budi Karya stressed the importance of finalizing the Loan Agreement for the East-West line to meet the August groundbreaking target.
