Inp.polri.go.id - Banda Aceh. The Indonesian Military (TNI) has dispatched 450 soldiers from the 112th Infantry Battalion/Darma Jaya to secure the Indonesia-Papua New Guinea border in Puncak Jaya, Central Papua.
The deployment was led by Commander of Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command, Major General Niko Fahrizal, during a send-off ceremony at Kreung Geukeh Port, North Aceh, on Sunday (17/11/2024).
“Work smart, sincerely, and thoroughly while upholding the honor of the Indonesian Army, particularly Kodam IM,” he told the troops, as reported by antaranews.com.
The soldiers, under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Fiska Bagus Tri Sunaryanto, will be stationed for a year and departed aboard the KRI Teluk Palu 523 vessel.
The troops underwent a month-long pre-deployment training in Sanggabuana, West Java, aimed at honing their tactical, technical, and mental preparations.
“This mission is a matter of pride, reflecting the trust placed by the nation in the TNI,” said Commander Fahrizal, emphasizing vigilance, responsible conduct, and respectful engagement with local communities.
