Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Military (TNI) is pursuing five key members of the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB) responsible for the fatal assault on an army unit in Teluk Bintuni, West Papua, that killed one soldier.
“The perpetrators are identified as Manfred, Emanuel Aimau, Barnabas Muuk, Frengky Orocomna, and Simon Orocomna,” said Brigadier General Dian Hardiana, the Chief of Staff of the Kasuari Military Command, in Manokwari on Monday (13/10/2025). “The incident occurred when soldiers were conducting a community outreach in Moyeba Village, North Moskona District.”
He emphasized that no troop reinforcements have been deployed, assuring that all actions will follow standard military procedures, according to antaranews.com.
Kasuari military command spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Daniel P. Manalu confirmed that the assault, which happened at 1.30 pm local time on Saturday, adds to a string of armed violence by separatist groups targeting both security forces and civilians. The rebels reportedly seized the fallen soldier’s firearm. The body of Senior Private Amin Nurohman was flown to Kebumen, Central Java, on Monday morning.
