Inp.polri.go.id - Nabire. A coordinated strike by the Indonesian Military (TNI)’s Rajawali Mambri Task Force and the Indonesian National Police’s Damai Cartenz Task Force shot a key member of an armed criminal group (KKB) in Central Papua on Monday.
The suspect, identified as Hurbianus Mirip, was killed during a "decisive and measured" tactical engagement in the Signal Hill area of Nabire Regency.
"Hurbianus Mirip was a member of the KKB Dulla who had been on the most-wanted list since 2025 for his involvement in various armed assaults across Nabire and Paniai," said Senior Superintendent Yusuf Sutejo, the Head of Public Relations of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, on Wednesday (18/3/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The authorities recorded Mirip’s extensive criminal record, which included the 2025 murder of two Brimob officers and the recent February 2026 raid on a military security post that claimed the lives of a soldier and a civilian.
Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, the Head of Damai Cartenz Task Force, reiterated that the joint task force remains committed to stabilizing Central Papua and protecting the public from insurgent threats.
