Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU) Mochammad Afifuddin said that the Indonesian National Police (INP) and the Indonesian National Military (TNI) will help the distribution process of ballots of the 2024 Regional Head Election to the outermost or farthest regions of Indonesia.

He said that the KPU, the TNI and the INP have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to send the election logistics to remote areas to support the success of the simultaneous regional head elections.

"The TNI and INP will help prepare their fleets and defense equipment, such as helicopters or other fleets to distribute the logistics to the outermost, farthest areas," said the Chairman of the KPU on Thursday (10/17/2024).

He added, in the previous national consolidation, KPU also established communication with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and the Minister of Home Affairs to support the implementation and preparation for the upcoming voting day on November 27th.

In addition, he added, the TNI-Polri will also focus on helping with the logistics distribution to disaster-prone areas.

He stated that areas that have the potential for flooding have also been prepared with backup plans, to ensure that the voting day would remain going accordingly and smoothly.
