Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Military (TNI) has issued a firm warning to all soldiers and military civil servants, saying there will be zero tolerance for involvement in online gambling.

Major General Alvis Anwar, the TNI Deputy Inspector General, stressed on Wednesday (13/11/2024) that anyone caught engaging in online gambling, whether as a player or operator, will face harsh penalties.

“We have sworn an oath as soldiers. These violations are unacceptable for anyone in the military or as TNI civil servants. If you are involved, stop now or face serious consequences,” he warned, as quoted by antaranews.com.

In 2024, TNI has already taken disciplinary actions against 4,000 personnel for online gambling, with punishments ranging from disciplinary actions to detention and criminal charges, according to Major General Yusri Nuryanto, the Commander of TNI’s Military Police.

To combat misconduct, TNI has established a task force, led by General Muhammad Saleh Mustafa, to focus on violations including online gambling, narcotics, smuggling, and corruption, with specialized sub-teams addressing each issue.
