Inp.polri.go.id - Batu. A tourist bus crash on Wednesday night (8/1/2025)in Batu City, East Java, resulted in the deaths of four passengersat around 7.15 pm.
Batu Sub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Andi Yudha Pranata, the bus was carrying students from SMK TI Bali Global Badung vocational school on an industrial visit.
The crash is suspected to have been caused by brake failure, though the investigation is still ongoing.
“We are investigating the cause. Preliminary reports suggest the bus had brake failure,” Chief Andi said, as reported by antaranews.com.
Witnesses reported that the bus, traveling downhill, suddenly crashed into several vehicles ahead of it. Kusnari, a local resident, noted that the bus appeared to have lost control, hitting four cars and two motorcycles.
The police are continuing to evacuate the scene and assess the full extent of the casualties.
