Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps conducted a tactical floor game (TFG) on Saturday (14/12/2024) to finalize preparations for Operasi Lilin 2024 (literally Candle Operation 2024), aimed at ensuring public safety and smooth traffic during the Christmas and New Year holidays.
Led by Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Aan Suhanan, the TFG involved key stakeholders and regional traffic police, including representatives from Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, and Bali.
"This is part of our effort to guarantee a safe and comfortable holiday season for the public," said Chief Aan, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The TFG used floor maps to simulate real-life scenarios, focusing on managing traffic flow, addressing potential bottlenecks, and coordinating emergency responses. Preparations targeted critical areas like toll roads, arterial routes, tourist destinations, and ferry crossings.
Chief Aan urged the public to avoid using motorcycles for long-distance travel, citing a 78% accident rate involving two-wheelers during holidays.
PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry CEO Heru Widodo supported the effort, calling it a valuable step toward coordination among stakeholders to mitigating risks and ensure a smooth holiday experience for all.
