Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police’s Traffic Corps is finalizing traffic engineering schemes for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr 2026 holiday, utilizing advanced digital technology to monitor and manage the influx of homebound travelers.
"The Traffic Corps utilizes digital technology to manage traffic engineering, including alih arus, contraflow, and national one-way systems based on specific parameters," said Traffic Police Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho on Sunday (1/3/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
He said that real-time data from radar systems, traffic counters, and precision drones will dictate the implementation of contraflow and one-way systems on national toll roads.
The system automatically triggers contraflow measures when vehicle density reaches predefined thresholds, specifically 4,500 to 5,000 cars and buses per hour for a single lane, increasing to 6,400 vehicles for two lanes.
