Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Brigadier General Raden Slamet Santoso, the Director of Law Enforcement at the Indonesian National Police (INP)'s Traffic Corps, said on Wednesday (9/10/2024) that motorcycle-related traffic violations were the most common from January to September 2024.

"Data shows that most violations involved motorcycles, followed by cars, passenger vehicles, and freight trucks," he said, as reported by antaranews.com

Among motorcycle users, the main infractions included not wearing helmets and lacking vehicle registration documents.

"There were nearly 438,000 instances of helmet violations across Indonesia, in addition to many cases involving vehicle documents, mirrors, traffic signs, and wrong-way driving," Chief Raden Slamet added.

For four-wheeled vehicles, the primary violation was not wearing seatbelts, totaling around 547,000 cases, along with issues related to traffic signs and documentation.

In 2023, the Traffic Corps recorded almost 152,000 accidents nationwide, resulting in approximately 18,357 fatalities and over 146,000 injuries.
