inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps Chief Inspector General Agus Suryonugroho stated that the peak traffic volume for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday return flow on Tuesday (3/24.2026) reached 250,000 vehicles.
"The peak traffic volume was 256,388 vehicles. This is also the highest traffic volume in history, as last year's figure was 223,163, so there's a 14.8 percent increase," said Agus on Wednesday (3/25/2026).
He also revealed that to date, 58 percent of vehicles, or 1,958,000 vehicles, have returned to Jakarta.
"This means that when Operation Ketupat concludes tonight, we will have approximately 250,000 vehicles remaining on the Trans Java route heading to Jakarta. So, things are quite manageable," he explained.
Operation Ketupat 2026 will last for 13 days, from March 13 to March 25, 2026, involving 161,243 joint personnel.
During the operation, INP will deploy 2,746 posts, consisting of 1,624 security posts, 779 service posts, and 343 integrated posts, to serve as information and service centers for travelers.
Security will also be focused on 185,607 locations, including mosques, Eid prayer locations, tourist attractions, shopping centers, terminals, ports, train stations, and airports.
