inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo urged travelers traveling home to avoid traveling together on the return journey to avoid congestion on toll roads and national roads.
"Yes, the same appeal as the Head of the Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police (INP) is that the return journeys should not be carried out simultaneously, but rather in waves so that the roads are not too congested," said Dody on Wednesday (3/25/2026).
According to him, the government has established a work from anywhere (WFA) policy that the public can utilize, allowing them to plan their travels as best as possible to avoid traffic congestion during the return journey.
"We've been given the opportunity to work from anywhere, so we should be able to manage our travel plans," said Dody.
He also stated that this year's Eid homecoming traffic was better than last year's, and he hoped the return journey would remain as smooth as the homecoming traffic.
"I think it's better than last year. Hopefully, that's the case, but we're still waiting for the return flow. Hopefully, it'll remain as smooth as the homecoming flow last year," said the Minister of Public Works.
It is worth to note that the flow of vehicles and passengers returning to Jakarta and several other major cities continues to increase as the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday draws to a close, with a surge in mobility seen across various modes of transportation, from toll roads and arterial roads to trains and flights.
