Inp.polri.go.id - Cirebon. Indonesian railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI) is working to restore tracks and evacuate the Argo Bromo Anggrek train, which derailed at Pegaden Baru Station in Subang, West Java, on Friday afternoon (1/8/2025).
“This recovery is our top priority to restore safe and normal train traffic in northern Java. Evacuation and track repair efforts began immediately after emergency crews arrived Friday night,” said PT KAI Cirebon Public Relations Manager Muhibbuddin, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Five train cars, including a power car, two executive coaches, and two compartments, derailed, while seven other cars remained intact. All 259 passengers were safely evacuated, with one person sustaining minor injuries.
Seventeen trains were delayed, and several routes were diverted to southern lines. Long-distance services such as Argo Muria and Taksaka were canceled across multiple regions, including Semarang and Yogyakarta.
KAI assured passengers would receive full compensation per service recovery policy.
