inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Transportation is utilizing weighbridges as rest areas during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return period.

"We are also preparing weighbridges to be used as rest areas," said Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi at the Monas, Jakarta, Thursday (3/12/2026).

He explained that several points that can be utilized by the Ministry of Health will also be turned into rest areas. One of them, Dudy said, is community health centers.

He explained that one of the main concerns is people traveling on motorcycles. The addition of rest areas is expected to provide a sense of safety and comfort for them when traveling.

"Furthermore, we are preparing two crossing points at crossings that are the focus of public attention regarding Eid al-Fitr transportation, specifically the Merak crossing," Minister Dudy said.
