inp.polri.go.id - Sanggata. The East Kutai Sub-regional Police are preparing a Free Homecoming (Mudik) program, along with a free vehicle parking service. This program is part of the Centralized Operation, codenamed Ketupat Mahakam 2026, which will run for 13 days, from March 13 to 25, 2026.

East Kutai Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Fauzan Arianto, stated that this operation involves a combined force of 933 personnel. These personnel consist of 432 police personnel, 141 military personnel (TNI), and 360 personnel from stakeholders and community elements.

"We, along with relevant stakeholders, are committed to implementing optimal security measures. Safety, order, and security are our shared responsibility, so that we can achieve our main goal," explained Superintendent Fauzan in his statement on Thursday (3/12/2026).

To ensure safe and comfortable travel in the homecoming season, the East Kutai Sub-regional Police have launched several prioritized programs. One of the most anticipated programs is the Free Homecoming Program.

The initial departure group will be held on March 12 and 13, 2026.

"We are also adapting to public interest. If the number of registrants continues to rise, we will add a new group that will depart three and two days before Eid al-Fitr," explained Fauzan.

For those who choose to travel home using public transportation and leave their private vehicles behind, the police are providing a security solution through a free vehicle parking service. This facility is available at all police stations in East Kalimantan.

"People don't need to worry about leaving their vehicles behind. They can simply leave them at the nearest police station, free of charge. The requirements are very simple: just show your original ID card (KTP) and vehicle registration (STNK), and attach photocopies to our officers," said Fauzan.
