inp.polri.go.id - Belu. The East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Mobile Brigade Unit moved swiftly to evacuate the fallen tree that hit houses in Fatuluka, Kakuluk Mesak District, Belu Regency on Thursday (1/29/2026).
The Mobile Brigade Commander, Senior Superintendent Afrizal Asri says that the tree fell at night, hitting two homes. Responding to the report, police send their personnel to help evacuate the tree.
“Upon receiving the report, we immediately dispatched our personnel to move the tree as fast as possible so as not to cause further damages and endanger the public,” says Afrizal.
Upon arrival at the location, personnel immediately coordinated with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and local residents to clear the fallen tree debris.
"Personnel, along with BNPB officers and residents, worked together to cut branches and tree trunks that had fallen on the houses," explained Afrizal.
The cleanup process lasted until 11:15 a.m. and proceeded smoothly. After ensuring the location was safe and under control, all personnel returned to headquarters for a consolidation roll call.
Afrizal emphasized that their preparedness in responding to disasters is part of the police's humanitarian duty to provide protection and services to the community.
